RE-FOOD - Food innovation and reformulation for a healthier
The project aims to riformulate the 4 local umbrian agri-production, Fagiolina del Trasmeno, Farro di Monteleone di Spoleto, Patata Rossa di Colfiorito e Lenticchia di Castelluccio di Norcia, by improoving healty features throught new agricoltural practice, and to use that as a marketing key.
Project's activities are focused on 4 seed Umbrian O.P.D. There are 4 focus areas dedicated to each O.D.P plus a cross-border one. Before we 're analizing fields and products and then we 're introducing innovation (New agri-machine, and input based on analisys). After this we 'll check results gained. In the cross-borders area we wil spread resuts among farmers and through the supply chain, as marketing leverage.
The first innovation is about agri-local production. We are goin to make some test on the growing soil and then to local agri-production. We want to show that there is a connection between the amount of bio-active micro-element and type of farming system used. Evidences that we will gain we are going to integrate in each procedural guideline.
We are going to build 2 machine: one for sowing and one for hoeing to improve Fagiolina del Trasimeno cultivation. The Seeder will be integrated by a roller to lay out a mulching cloth, with the possibility of spreading a hose for irrigation at the same sowing. To the hoener will be add special Carter so that, as it passes, does not damage the branches of the plant, which unlike other crops of the same species, unravel irregularly in the field.
Create a supply chain. All agri-product has been traced along production chain.
Web Community creation and monitoring. Our web community will be the interface with we can communcate innovations to stakeholders.
