Description

TERRITORIAL PROGRAMMING - The integrated approach of territorial planning is focused on the multifunctional role of agriculture for economic development and quality of life in rural areas. Through a bottom-up approach and the establishment of public-private partnerships, we want to propose a strategy to reconnect cities and countryside and reverse the model of interpretation by supporting the urban reconquest of urban space. The actions to promote this new approach are developed by referring to already existing strategies in Europe (food strategy) that are just emerging in our territories, placing at the center the interest and the role of farms, in a valorization of products and places functional to guarantee the attractiveness of the territories. The territorial planning factor is fundamental for the protection and enhancement of rural areas, with the aim of strengthening and consolidating the qualitative dimension of the Umbrian territory through the development of new products / practices / processes / technologies. Starting from an agreement (food card) between public and private, the proposed territorial food strategy seeks to intersect with the different levels of planning (Regulatory Plan, Landscape Plan, fight against land consumption), and then to test paradigmatic realizations (vegetable gardens) urban, edible landscape, foodscape) that bring out and support the attribution of a shared value on the multifunctional role of agriculture for the development of our territories.

Description

PROGRAMMING THE OFFER OF MULTIFUNCTIONAL SERVICES: FOOD SAFETY, AGRITURISMO, BIODIVERSITY - The innovative activities concern the offer of multifunctional services:
• maintenance of green areas
• maintenance of the hydrographic network at local and company level
• contribution to the supply of safe food at municipal canteens, consumer groups and agri-tourism businesses
• reorganization of agritourism activities
• introduction of biodiversity conservation areas into the company
These activities will be implemented by the partner companies according to the program availability in the project. For each of the project years, the GO develops plans to offer multifunctional services based on these activities and takes care of the implementation of the partner companies.

Description

DIGITAL ECOSYSTEM - The role of information and communication technologies (ICT) for the development of agricultural areas does not find its heart in instrumental innovation but in the value of the data that the smart city has placed on the foundation of innovation processes.
The actions to promote this new approach are developed by referring to existing strategies aimed at the construction of digital ecosystems: a community of subjects that interact, exchange information, combine, evolving in terms of knowledge, skills, contacts, in order to improve the their existence and to satisfy their needs. In this logic, rather than designing structures and infrastructures, we want to favor the construction of meeting and connection platforms, of regional impact, which place the interest and the role of farms at the center, in a valorization of products and functional places. to guarantee the attractiveness and accessibility of the territories, as well as to promote services and to give value to the multifunctional impact of agricultural care.
The digital ecosystem becomes so functional to the development of new products / practices / processes / technologies, to ensure logistics, the story of the territory, transparency, inclusiveness, accessibility: it is on these foundations that the ecosystem declines to put producers on the network, to reveal the impacts of the choices made, to bring out the resources that can be exploited, to promote the active role of citizens.

Description

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT - The link between community and engagement shifts the focus from the individual to the community that remains connected and discusses the same theme and is united by the interest in conscious consumption of local food products produced in respect of the environment and human health. The actions to start the community engagement are different, how to produce new knowledge and increase the visibility of the local food system, give information, increase awareness and understand what members of that community think, involve people in decision-making processes, involve the public in a formal and / or informal way by activating digital strategies and relationship tools.
The engagement factor is essential to trigger a close relationship between those who produce food and those who consume them, to bring two categories that belong to the same territory but that the phenomenon of globalization has made distant, to actively involve the local community with the creation of a just space in the virtual platform (crowdmapping).

Description

CREATING NEW KNOWLEDGE FROM THE RESEARCH PROJECT - Innovation is aimed at defining new knowledge that will be produced by the project itself. The companies of the partnership take part in the process of co-creation of knowledge contributing to the elaboration of the survey and its results. The integration of these activities leads to the definition of innovative prototypes of multifunctional business models and a system of prototype relations for multi-functionality, which constitute the final product of the project.
