The direct objectives of the project consist in the development of protocols for the production of innovative ingredients for the food industry and the feed industry starting from extracts of biophenols recovered from the vegetation waters of the oil mills, through a completely compatible treatment system. with the environment and with the safety requirements imposed on the food industry. Activity 1: Development of new bioactive ingredients for human and animal feed in livestock production, starting from the Phoenician extracts of the vegetation waters of the oil mills.
Activity 2: Pilot-scale development of new dairy products enriched with the new bioactive ingredients with functional activities.
Activity 3: Use of the new bioactive ingredients in the preservation of fresh meat.
Activity 4: Intervention on the diet of the animal and milk and dairy products with bioactive molecules with a predominant antioxidant and antimicrobial activity.
Activity 5: Technological transfer and monitoring results.
