COLOSTRUM HORSE BANK: THE MURGESE HORSE
The work plan includes to: create a link between research and farmers; build a prototype for the
collection of mare's colostrum to standardize the process and storage; constitute a reserve of
lyophilisate colostrum immediately available in cases of vital needs for foals (eg orphans at birth or in
cases where the mare does not allow breastfeeding or does not have adequate production and / or
quality); create and testing a new cosmetic; identify further market for colostrum.
L. the implementation of good practices in farms to support company personnel;
2. the validation and standardization of the collection and conservation process;
3. the creation of a bank of equine colostrum to serve the Apulian farms;
4. trials and tests on the new cosmetic and sector surveys to identify further market outlets for
colostrum.
