Application of genomic in dairy goat farms
Obiettivi
Objectives
Development of a herd reproduction management process based on genomic information (e.g. kinship verification, genomic inbreeding) and morphological evaluation of the udder with a 3D camera. Genotyping will allow: a) to identify the genomic basis of CAEV resilience; b) to integrate the genomic information available for genomic selection developed by ASSONAPA. The collection of innovative phenotypes on udder morphology will allow to accurately evaluate the functional longevity of animals. The project provides for actions to disseminate the results to farmers through demonstration and information actions.
