Precision agriculture for cereal SMEs
Introduction, in a pilot company, of innovative precision agriculture technologies to support the various agronomic phases. The results will be transferred to the farms in the Arezzo area and in the Tuscan region and disseminated for the purpose of spreading the knowledge and allowing local SMEs (especially cereal ones) to evaluate the transition to the precision agriculture technologies, consistently with their own structures and potential. The aim is thus to contribute to the improvement of the productive performances of the companies and therefore of the competitiveness of the sector in respect of the increasingly conditioning constraints of economic and environmental sustainability
- Animation and coordination
- Support for the implementation of the pilot project. Assistance in the application of precision agriculture and monitoring in the company
- Pilot project implementation, technical economic assessment and impact indicators of the introduction of Precision Agriculture practices in the Bemoccoli Company (application case) and impact assessment on organizational and management structure
- Demonstrative actions and tutoring for the use of weather stations
- Support for interaction between partners and development of an interactive knowledge transfer methodology, information actions, company visits and training
The local farms have machines and cutting-edge technology park but often underutilized, if not entirely unused. The most frequent problems that slow down the use of these innovations, although they greatly facilitate activities in terms of time (saving of hours), quality of work, safety and, above all, energy and chemical savings, are:
- need for technical support, often not provided by companies that produce / sell Precision Agriculture machinery and equipment;
- shortage of skilled labor;
- unclear ideas on the cost / benefit ratio of Precision Agriculture
